AIM Testimonials

"I was fearful of heights, or thought I was, and have never been athletic. I am small and not too well coordinated. Yet I got through the spider web along with my teammates with ease, and maneuvered the minefield while learning about my own communication style - what worked and what did not. The high ropes course at AIM made me realize that I could do a lot more than I thought, and the fear of heights evaporated.

Scott Wood was wonderful, obviously an expert in helping people overcome fear and reach far beyond their comfort zones. He explained carefully and answered all our questions. He guided and coached, helping all of us to reach our best. He made us feel that he honestly cares. He was very professional.

AND all this happened on one of the most beautiful and pristine mountainsides in the West, where "getting away from it all" takes on a delicious new meaning.

As for the Ropes Course and associated activities, they were about the best things I've ever done for myself."

"The management staff (22 individuals) from Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter had the challenge and pleasure of working with AIM at Grand Targhee Resort on August 2, 2001. We successfully completed our team building seminar utilizing the structured combination of a physically and psychologically challenging ropes course. Please accept a few of my specific observations of the day.

* First of all, it was a beautiful day, a beautiful setting and most importantly; "away from the Hospital"
* All day long I heard comments like "I can't believe we're being paid for having so much fun".
* It was very physically challenging. A great experience for many of us who are confined to an office (inside) setting day after day.
* The course was exciting, varied and required continuous team building processes from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* We were required to "think outside of the box". A very important skill as we try to cope with our changing environment and stay "out of the rut".
* The exercises were designed so that we experienced mandatory team effort. We learned that the job couldn't be done without utilizing the team. After the exercise, discussion was had which related the course tasks to those experienced at work.

We are very hopeful that we can and will utilize the basic principals of teamwork and trust which we learned and exercised with Scott. It was an outstanding program; one of the most enjoyable, yet physically and mentally challenging management programs I have ever attended and perhaps the most worthwhile. We would highly recommend the course for any organization needing to strengthen the team."

"For several years now it has been our privilege to participate in the ropes course offered at Grand Targhee and directed by Scott Wood and his staff at AIM. Some have called it a life changing experience, others say that it had the effect of unifying our entire group. Still others say, they made it apply to every area of my life. We hope to continue this wonderful activity for many years to come."

"AIM's ropes course proved to be a great confidence builder for many members of our staff. The ropes course can challenge anyone, irrespective of physical condition. The ropes course was the highlight of four days of team building. The ropes course was a great activity that helped to reinforce what we are looking for in people "willingness to take a chance, teamwork, hard work and the desire to have some fun". From the trepidation prior to the course, to the excitement of standing 20' up on the wire, the coaching your partner to help ensure total success the ropes course is something that all of our team members will remember."

"The ropes course training presented by AIM at Grand Targhee was a great experience for our young women's group. The low elements required team effort in planning, trusting and supporting one another to accomplish a common goal. It was great to hear everyone cheer when we succeeded. The high elements were a perfect setting for those young women who love a personal challenge."
